Developing the Best Muscle Building Formula


The best muscle building formula is a combination of training, nutritional, rest and supplementation factors which lead to an elevation in testosterone levels, greater muscle mass, increased strength, greater vitality and sexual drive, and above all, better health. This can be achieved by looking at each of these aspects individually and examining good habits you can follow to ensure you’ve ‘covered your bases’ adequately in each area.


Training


Intelligent training is essential if you want to get into the best shape of your life. Develop a weight training regimen that targets all muscle groups of the body, and works well with your existing schedule. The world’s best routine will not work, if you aren’t following it. Design a program that has you training in the weight room three to five times per week. Include heavy movements such as bench press, deadlift, rowing, squats, and military presses in your routine, along with finisher work using cables and machines. Train abs and calves 2 to 3 times per week.


Nutrition


The best muscle building formula – without a doubt – is based upon sound nutritional fundamentals. You should be eating at least 200 grams of protein each day, from sources such as eggs, beef, chicken, fish, and whey protein powder. Carbohydrates – your source of energy – should come from foods like potatoes, rice, pasta and beans. Fats should come from egg yolks and fish oil caplets, and you should limit your ‘junk food’ consumption to one cheat meal per week.


Rest


All people should sleep at least 7 hours per night, even if they are not active. More advanced athletes who place their bodies under a great deal of daily stress in the weight room would benefit from 8 to 8.5 hours of sleep each night. A short power nap each day would also aid in recovery. Remember that our muscles do not grow in the weight room. Rather, they grow as we sleep each evening.

We look on television and see athletes hitting home runs well into their 40s, a task thought impossible just a decade or two ago.
