Most all of us want to get bigger arm muscles, but it seems that for many people, no matter how many exercises they do, their arms stay about the same size. Why? Well, it’s generally from training the wrong way. Here’s why.


The way to build arm muscles in any muscle work outs is to add enough weight until it interferes with your form. Don’t worry if you don’t understand, I’ll explain more on that in a moment. The way to build big powerful biceps is by lifting more weight. You can’t expect to do three sets of curls with a light amount of weight and see any growth. You’ll need to push yourself with heavier weights to get the results you’re looking for.


When setting up a bicep workout routine you’ll want to incorporate 3 sets of 6-8 reps each. I use 8 reps myself, but 6 will also work. You want to use enough weight so that your form is still good on the last set. If you’re using too much weight and your form gets sloppy from overdoing it, your results will suffer as well.


Another thing to keep in mind with any muscle work outs is to not overwork the muscles. This includes your biceps. You only need to work out twice a week. I’ve seen guys work their arms 4 days a week and it’s overdoing it. When you overtrain, you’re not allowing your muscles the time they need to rest and build back. This is true for all muscle groups. Contrary to what you might think, working your biceps too many times a week will actually take away your results.


The next question most often asked is what type of arm muscle building exercises work the best? Here are 3 basic bicep exercises that are known to produce muscle gains:


Alternate Dumbbell Curl – If you want to know how to build bicep muscle fast, this is the exercise for you. As your doing this routine, be sure to let your body sway a little bit in order to build up some momentum. This allows you to use more heavier weights and increase your results.


Barbell Curl – This is also a good exercise to get more muscle growth. Concentrate on using more of your arms than letting your body do the work.


Inclined Dumbbell Curl – By using an inclined bench for dumbbell curls you are able to focus in on the biceps specifically during this exercise.

I suck at making anything with Coconut Flour!






Dear Paleo friends…


I am a pretty good baker and usually give treats to my friends and family on special occasions. I make my bf cakes and treats and he loves them! I've changed my baking ingredients to try and suit paleo as much as possible: the eggs, using coconut oil instead of regular oil…etc. BUT I cannot seem to be able to replace regular flour :/ … I've tried with cookies, pancakes..etc… and I've followed recipes online BUT it still tastes gross and crumbles in my hand!


I really want to make my bf something special for VDay, and I have a TON of coconut flour…any suggestions?


I have used it as "breading" to coat chicken :D that was pretty good.

As with humans, prevention is the key for your chinchilla to staying healthy and not getting sick. Even though precautions are taken, sometimes steps are still missed. It is crucial that your pet’s cage have fresh food and water daily. Their cage should always be kept clean and their food should not contain fungus or insects. Any violations of these can cause adverse effects for your pet. Keep in mind your chinchilla has a sensitive digestive system. It cannot easily get rid of bad food from their system. This means they could get sick.


Please find below some health problems that could affect your pet and what you can do:


Constipation:


You will know that your pet is constipated if their bowels are dry, small, strangely shaped and have a foul odor. Provide them with more fresh water and hay. Also, you can give them 1 – 2 raisins.


Bloating:


Your pet will look like a balloon and their bowels will contain mucous. Their bowels are also holey and sticky. Give your chinchilla a longer time to exercise and give them food culture.


Diarrhea:


Your pet’s bowels will stick and look like a grape. The diarrhea in your pet could be caused by hay that is moldy or algae that has grown in their water. Check the hay for mold and check the water for algae. It is imperative that their water is changed out everyday and that it’s fresh. Also check to see if their diarrhea is caused by an environmental change.


Seizures and Cramping:


If your pet does not move or starts to tremble, this may be a sign of a seizure. This can be caused by stress, injury to the head or lack of calcium. You will know if your pet lacks calcium if their teeth turn white. This can happen more so with the female chinchilla. Don’t allow your pet to injure themselves. They should be kept warm. Since this is a more serious issue, see a veterinarian immediately.


In addition to the above, you should see a veterinarian immediately if your pet is experiencing any of the following:


Severe diarrhea or constipation, injury of the eye from a sharp object, pneumonia, weight loss, ingesting poison, or broken bones anywhere on their body. Any of these will require additional medical care from a specialized veterinarian.


You hope that you don’t have to experience any of this with your pet chinchilla. There are things you can do to make sure your pet stays healthy and not fall into any health dangers.


Listed below are some of the tips:


- Keep their cage cleaned on a regular basis.



- Don’t change their food too often; they have a sensitive digestive system.



- Don’t move them around a lot; chinchillas can’t withstand changes too well, especially sudden ones. If you do have to move them, try to do it gradually.



- Make sure their roughage food is fresh.



- Make sure their water is fresh and constantly changed out.



- Their food should be administered in small portions.



- Since chinchillas are night owls, they should rest during the day.


Follow these tips and your chinchilla will live a long and happy life.

4 Essential Foods That Build Muscle


To build muscle you need to know what to eat and you need to eat foods that build muscle. You have probably heard the saying, 20 percent of building muscle is the actual exercises and 80 percent is nutrition, which I totally agree with. But many people tend to forget this and only focuses on the time in the gym and forget to focus on foods to make the muscle building process work.


I will in this article provide you with 4 essential foods that build muscle, which I through my experience and what I have learned from my role models found to be good to include in your nutrition plan.


Muscle Building Foods


Red meat is the first one in the list. It contains a lot of high quality protein that is essential in building up muscle. You need protein in your diet if you want to build muscle and red meat is among the foods that build muscle that is famously known for doing that. It is also a high source of iron, which carries the necessary oxygen to your blood cells among other benefits. Vitamin B12, Vitamin B6 and zinc are other nutritional benefits that puts red meat among the preferred choice when talking about foods that build muscle.


The second one on the list of muscle building foods is egg. Egg is a cheap source of prosperous protein with most of the essential amino acids. Vegetarians that also eat eggs knows how effective they are in building muscle and are on their list of foods that build muscle when going out to shop.


Fish is on top of the list of muscle building foods. It is a high source of protein, but what also puts it on top of the list is the richness of omega 3 fatty acids. A lot of people think that all fat is bad for the health, which is simply not true. It is saturated fat that we want to avoid which is also avoided by many to be put on the list. The nutrition’s in fish also has a lot of internal health benefits.


Another good source of healthy fat and protein for muscle building foods is mixed nuts (everything from cashew nuts to almonds etc.). Many of the different nuts have the same healthy fat that is good for the internal health, along with other beneficial nutritional minerals. Many bodybuilder uses nuts as snack because of the richness in protein.


What to know


The above foods are just a small portion of the foods available for this purpose. But what is important to realize in this situation is that is as important to get protein as it is with healthy fat and carbs. You need fat to lose weight, because your body will start storing fat if you don’t consume any. And you need carbs to have energy. It is therefore important to know what you consume and choose the right foods that build muscle.

Part of the success lies in the fact the diet includes delicious meals, no portion control and therefore no sense of being hungry or ‘deprived.’

Need Quick Muscle Growth? Pyramid Program Weight Lifting for Maximum Muscle Gain


If you are looking to gain as much muscle as possible in the shortest amount of time, then the pyramid program weight lifting method may be just what you need. The standard three sets of 15 repetitions workout just doesn’t cut it anymore. Sure, if you are just getting started in weight training or coming back after an injury, it might ease you back into a workout routine. But if you really want to push your muscles to the max to spur on some serious mass growth, you can’t beat pyramid lifting.


There are actually two versions of the pyramid program weight lifting method: forward and reverse. And to keep your muscles from getting used to one way (and to avoid boredom), you should switch back and forth between them every 3-4 weeks.


The forward pyramid usually consists of five sets with reps counts of 15, 10, 6, 10, and 15. The first couple of sets use lights weights and act to get the blood flowing in the muscle group you are working out. The middle set, typically called the “work set”, is where you will really push your muscles. You do this by lifting as much weight as possible for six reps. The last couple of sets are called the “drop sets” and will fully fatigue your muscles. You will use much lighter weights by this time.


The reverse pyramid works in the opposite direction. After a few warm up reps with no weight, you will do five sets of 6, 10, 15, 10, and 6. However, this time you will be using your heaviest weight on the first and last sets and have your lightest weight in the middle of the routine. This workout will fully overload your muscles, especially at the end (if you are even able to finish).


The pyramid program weight lifting method, when done correctly, can result in quick muscle mass gains. Be sure to alternate between forward and reverse routines, get enough rest between workouts so that your muscles can fully recover, and maintain an optimum nutritional diet to fully maximize muscle growth.
