All over the world people are getting older all the time, and even though modern medicine have found many ways to deliver health care, more and more people look for alternative health care.
Lots of health insurance solutions nowadays contain the option to seek alternative advice and health care, if the usual channels, does not solve your problem.
A typically well educated doctor has spent around 11 years in college and as a resident to earn his medical degree, but even though our doctors are well educated, they do not have all the answers.
An M.D. is bound by several limitations, both in what he is allowed to work with, and within the belief system he has developed in his professional environment. When your daily life and teachings all evolves around strict science, lab analysis and the like, it is only natural that some of the alternative treatments seem far fetched from an M.D’s point of view.
While most medical doctors treat you on basis of your symptoms, most alternative treatments looks upon diseases as systemic conditions. What appears to be the reason you feel sick, may very well just be the result of an underlying problem within an internal organ or even a psychological issue.
The alternative practitioner in my opinion keeps an open mind, and in most cases try to go behind the symptoms, to figure out what is really going on, and instead of just treating and removing the symptom, they work on removing the root cause of the symptom, and thereby completely eliminating the disease for good.
An example of this could be if you have been frequently prone to bronchitis, what would usually happen when you go to the doctor, is that you would probably be prescribed some antibiotics to bring the infection under control. An alternative health practitioner, would take more of a holistic approach, and probably view the bronchitis as the symptoms of an underlying weakness of the immune system, and treat you accordingly.
