Paleo advocates give the optimum ratio of omega 3/6 as 1:1 (I.e. paleo mom)
Yet this is IMPOSSIBLE on a meat and high fat diet without including a lot of fish or supplements.
I'm certainly not nimble enough to catch fish yet I'm supposed to believe people 40,000 yrs ago ate fish daily to keep this ratio in balance? What if they didn't live near a lake or ocean, or like me, were too dumb to catch fish?
I don't get it. No meat other than mercury laced fish has a proper o3/6 ratio. Yet I'm also supposed to believe the selenium makes the mercury all okay. How about not ingesting mercury in the first place?
My apologies for the rant but there are too many contradictions with this story. The only foods I can find with reliably good o3/6 ratios are fruits. Which the chimps we evolved from happen to be obsessed with.
When I was a young, clear minded boy on the countryside, unadulterated by mainstream profit seeking propagandists, I was drawn to the plum trees. I loved them, climbed them, ate their fruits.
But you know what I didn't do? I didn't walk by the cows and all of a sudden feel that same hunger. Have you ever killed a cow with your hands? Me neither, it's not natural, it's emotionally painful (I've killed deer). I don't look at cows, horses, dogs, sheep, whatever and feel hunger. Maybe I'm different, do you get hungry looking at a chicken? I used to play with them all the time at our pen but NEVER got the urge to devour one, much less dream of killing the little pecker heads.
I have been in a near ketogenoc paleo diet for months due to the paleo mom autoimmune book. And my autoantibodies are worse and I feel worse and I'm beginning to experience liver failure.
5 days ago I followed my heart and cravings and have eaten nothing but organic fruit and leafy greens. Zero *added fat or protein. And for the first time in a year I don't feel like utter dogshit plagued by chronic fatigue.
Fuck this illogical diet, it's complete bullshit. I started eating meat for bodybuilding but true health is more important. I don't give a damn what diet I'm on if it helps my biological mechanics operate. But proven lifespan reduction and possible colon cancer? Fuck that I'm out. None of this shit makes sense.
