In high school, Heather Chavez loved the sport of bodybuilding—but as a fan, not a participant. In fact, fitness was never a priority. From the time she became a mom in her 20s and through her 30s, Heather rarely worked out. A poor diet meant the weight piled on, until she topped the scale at 227 pounds—an all-time high for the 5’5″ realtor. A smoker, she’d also developed diabetes, and consoled herself by eating thousands of calories a day.
